Say Goodbye - 09/11/10 (Carpe Diem)

Say goodbye, guys, say goodbye.
You never know when something will go awry,
And it’s hard to tell what this may imply.
The father who raised you could suddenly die,
Leaving you asking, wondering why;
Bringing a constant tear to your eye,
And giving you nothing to do but cry.
But at least today you can STILL say goodbye.

If you love her, tell her so.
Before you become part of “a long time ago;”
Before your heart is split, and you’re left solo.
She up and leaves you like an average Joe,
And chooses another; you’re feeling so low
The word “Forever” is but an echo.
Despite it all, you’ve learned something, though.
Next time you love her you WILL tell her so.

Every moment try to be a friend,
So that you can help stop the ugly trend.
His life is so ugly he’s playing pretend
And sometimes tells you he wants it to end.
It falls on deaf ears, and the wounds never mend.
One night, down into death he’ll descend.
It’s something you’ll never get the chance to amend.
So gladly go out off your way for THAT friend.

So seize the day, and make it last.
Try not to dwell too much on the past.
Forget the chains of a social outcast.
Excel even when you’re being harassed.
Life is too short, it’s passing too fast,
To let such things hit you and leave you aghast
These things will allow you, with knowledge you’ve massed
To TRULY rest easy when you breathe in your last.
