I woke up from my nap today
And found I yearned for food.
But my cupboards were all empty
And stealing would be rude.
Thus I thought the smartest thing
Would be to buy some snacks.
After all they're all quite cheap
And they always help me relax.
Through the store I wandered 'bout
Searching near and far.
I thought for sure I was out of luck
Til I saw a chocolate bar.
Chocolate sounded great, of course,
But by itself was lacking.
So I decided to purchase more -
Graham crackers for stacking!
Filled with sugar galore.
But alas crackers and chocolate
Call for something more.
I knew just what this something was.
Right now my s'more lay fallow.
In order to fix this situation,
I would need marshmallow!
I roamed that store from wall to wall.
Finding the right aisle was a feat!
But my hopes were soon dashed to the ground:
They'd sold out of my treat.
With resigned mind and heavy heart
I returned back to my room.
But soon my heart was picked back up.
Another possibility loomed!
If I could only borrow some!
My needs would soon be met!
In a dorm of ninety plus
Someone has mallows, I bet!
My search, it was not fruitless.
My efforts, not in vain.
I found a bag of marshmallows,
And it was worth all the strain.
I laid the crackers down first
And piled high the chocolate.
And soon enough the mallows melted
Once the fire was lit.
I picked it up with bated breath.
My heart was all aflutter.
I would not trade this awesome treat,
I'll simply eat another.
