To stir the cauldron of mortal men,
The lines of war were clearly drawn.
The die of mankind's fate was cast.
But his sister, not to be outdone
Loosed the gods of fear and dread.
Phobos and Deimos, Ares' sons,
Brought Tartarus to the realm of man.
Mogons watched from his island throne
As horrors unwound before him.
Lifting not a finger to still the storm.
Had Orithyia bound his feeble hands?
Dutilly, Hermes relayed the news
To all who would lend an ear.
Yet Talos would not heed his words
Until Dolos struck with his poisoned spear.
Only then did the giant wake
And storm Apollo's land.
Haphaestus followed in his wake
And Perses roamed the land.
Styx laughed quietly to herself
As Thanatos feasted on souls.
All the while Zeus watched from his heavenly throne.
The comedy of the gods.
